Nakamba set for deadline day Villa exit as agent talks of player’s future

The coming 24 hours are critical for Warriors holding midfielder Marvelous Nakamba who is still yet to find suitors despite having been openly told by Aston Villa manager Unai Emery to leave the English Premier League (EPL) side.

Nakamba is expected to pack his bags and leave the Clarets and Blue before the transfer deadline day on Tuesday.

This comes after the 29-year-old fell down the pecking order in the team following the signing of French midfielder Boubacar Kamara who arrived in the summer from Marseille.

Nakamba is yet to feature for Villa this season and has only made it to the bench nine times in nineteen matches.

He last played on the final day of the previous season (2021/22) when Villa lost to champions Manchester City.

Emery who has showed he has no plans for the Hwange born star said: “In other positions as well we are speaking about how we can improve, some players like (Marvelous) Nakamba, I told him to leave.”

Albeit, his agent David Manasseh has spoken of his clients future ahead of the transfer deadline, he outlined: “I’m working on it, I’m sure by tomorrow (Tuesday) we will have a result.”

Nakamba arrived at Villa in 2019 from Belgian side Club Brugge.

He penned a 5-year-deal on his arrival at the English outfit and his contract is set to expire in June 2024.
