Newcastle wanted to secure Nakamba’s signature in the summer, as a deadline day signing, but Villa seemed reluctant to to sell the Hwange born star.

According to the football site, sources at Newcastle disclosed that the new owners are planning to strength their squad in the upcoming January transfer window.

And Villa’s holding midfielder, Nakamba has been identified by the new owners as one of the club’s top priority signing who will bring a suitable solution in the midfield.

Nakamba joined The Claret and Blue in the summer of 2019 from Belgian side Club Brugge, for a fee of around £11 million.

So far, he has made 57 appearance for the Dean Smith coached side and his contract with the EPL side runs till 2024.

The former Bantu Rovers player has only managed seven appearances this season.

Out of seven games he has started one, that is Villa’s season opener against Watford.
