CHELSEA have accepted a Real Madrid bid for Eden Hazard of £88.5million plus add-ons.
The Guardian say the two clubs finally agreed a fee after the Blues initially wanted closer to £115m for the Premier League’s top playmaker.
The breakthrough came after days of wrangling over a 28-year-old who has one year left on his Chelsea contract.
After the Blues’ 4-1 Europa League final win over Arsenal, Hazard all but confirmed he was quitting Stamford Bridge.
And on a recent holiday in Marbella he was even spotted holding up a Real top.
But the Belgium superstar’s hopes of a dream move began to waver a little yesterday.
Real chief executive Jose Angel Sanchez reportedly flew into London earlier this week for talks over Hazard but left without agreeing a deal.
Chelsea are understood to have held firm over their demands for a fee of more than £100m.
Finally, though, the two clubs seemed to have met in the middle.
So after months of speculation, Hazard’s switch finally seems just a few little formalities away.
