Makeup artist Erika Koike is reportedly demanding the actor pay her spousal support after they were married for less than a week.
Nicolas Cage’s estranged wife Erika Koike is said to be demanding spousal support, despite their marriage lasting just four days.
The actor, 55, sought an annulment after he married the makeup artist in a boozy Las Vegas ceremony last month.
The 34-year-old has filed legal documents, claiming their short-lived union has lost her career opportunities.
In the documents, obtained by TMZ , Erika also asks that Nicolas covers her legal fees.
The former couple had been dating for one year before they tied the knot at the Clark County Court House Marriage Licence Bureau.
It was reported at the time that the Con Air star, who had already been married three times, appeared to be “most likely drunk”.
His team have not filed a response to Erika’s demands for spousal support.
The Hollywood star has claimed he was “too drunk to understand” when he married Erika.
Court documents relating to the annulment were obtained by The Blast.
They said Nicolas claimed he and Erika were drunk during the ceremony and that he “lacked understanding of his actions in marrying [Koike] to the extent that he was incapable of agreeing to the marriage”.
Nicolas’ lawyers state in the document: “Prior to obtaining a marriage license and participating in a marriage ceremony, [Cage] and [Koike] were both drinking to the point of intoxication.
“As a result of his intoxication, when [Koike] suggested to [Cage] that they should marry, [Cage] reacted on impulse and without the ability to recognize or understand the full impact of his actions.”
The documents also claimed Erika was in a relationship with another man and that she didn’t “disclose to [Cage] the full nature and extent of her relationship with another person”.
