Man loses US$3 000 to twin sex workers

Two suspected commercial sex workers whose video torched a storm on social media recently beating up a man with cooking sticks accusing him of infidelity appeared in court last week.

The two identical twin sisters — Shyleen and Shylet Nyangade (22) from Kambuzuma — were facing assault and extortion charges when they appeared before Harare magistrate Mrs Rumbidzai Mugwagwa.

They were remanded in custody to today for pre-recording.

It is alleged that sometime in June last year, the twins hatched a plan to extort money from the complainant, who was in a relationship with Shyleen.

Their game plan was that Shylet would seduce the complainant during Shyleen’s absence.

The court heard that according to their plan, Shylet would take the complainant to the bedroom and then Shyleen would catch them in a compromising position.

The court heard that according to their plan, the complainant and Shylet went into the bedroom where Shyleen pounced on them and started accusing the complainant of infidelity.

It is alleged that the pair started assaulting the complainant with cooking sticks and hands all over the body while recording a video.

It is the State’s case that the duo went on to extort US$3 000 from the complainant, threatening to leak the video on the social media if he failed to give them the money.

The court heard that in a desperate attempt to protect his dignity, the complainant paid the amount. The Herald
