Top dancehall singer Winky D’s late inclusion on the Nigerian Patoranking-headlined gig is a major boost to the musical event.
Of interest also is the inclusion of Jah Prayzah, with whom he has been compared to on a number of things.
The two artistes have played down suggestions of rivalry between them but that has not stopped people from comparing them and this show will provide another opportunity for comparison.
One thing for sure is that both artistes are top performers and good at what they do on stage and usually leave their fans asking for more.
Jah Prayzah and Winky D have filled up the giant HICC each before; now it’s a combined effort.
Patoranking is arguably one of the hottest dancehall singers on the African continent and has featured on Jah Prayzah’s current album Chitubu on the song Follow Me.
He has also been hyping the April 26 gig, slated for the Harare International Conference Centre on his social media pages.
He is currently breaking charts with his latest release, Confirm which featured another Nigerian star Davido.
Organisers of the event said all is in place for the gig and are happy with the people’s response so far.
“All is in place for the gig. All the artistes are geared to perform and as you noticed, Patoranking is talking about the gig. We are happy to be having two of the biggest singers in the country, Winky D and Jah Prayzah under one roof and, as always, it will be fireworks,” Elton Kurima said.
Apart from the two local musicians, the Nigerian will also share the stage with rappers ExQ and Takura, dancehall singers Nutty O and Jah Signal, dendera musician Suluman Chimbetu, Shabach and Tha Band among others. DailyNews
