Contemporary musician Andy Muridzo may seem silent but he is in action and taking his act outside the capital, his handlers have said.
They say the singer is having gigs outside the capital where they say there are better returns than in town.
Several people in showbiz circles have expressed concern about the singer’s silence or reduced visibility while hoping for a resurrection moment that will take him back to the Dherira days.
The singer had a bad end to 2018 with off the stage drama dominating more than his career. His bedroom affairs and nasty fallout with his wife overshadowed his work.
“We are very much in the game only that we are having shows outside the capital where there are better returns. We still maintain a slot at East Point,” his manager, Gift Petro, said.
Petro added that Muridzo is also working on an album which is set for release in August. His previous album — Munondo — could not compete with his off-stage issues and the gifted singer is probably looking at making amends with the new album in the making.
“There is a new album coming, it is being worked on right now and we are looking at releasing it in August,” he said.
One thing that cannot be taken away from the singer is his talent and vocal abilities.
He has shared clips on social media showing his vocal prowess, one such video being on Facebook with him imitating a number of musicians.
He has also been slated as one of the headline acts at the Selmor Mtukudzi scheduled gig set for Andy Millar Hall on March 29 where he will share the stage with fellow singers such as Suluman Chimbetu. DailyNews
