Joining Soul Brothers on stage from South Africa will be Mas’kandi artiste Ihashi Elimhlophe and Mbaqanga great Steve Kekana.

Zimbabwe Mas’kandi musician Zinja Ziyamluma, Iyasa, Babongile Sikhonjwa and DJ Sbago will also share the stage with the South Africans.

This will be Soul Brother’s first tour of Zimbabwe following the death of their legendary lead vocalist David Masondo who died in 2015.

“Black” Moses Ngwenya, the sole survivor from the original five member Soul Brothers group, has since reassembled an impeccable vocalist line-up which also includes dancers and David Masondo’s son, Siphamandla.

Steve Kekana is renowned for being the “real competitor” to the Soul Brothers back in the 80s as he became a household name in Bulawayo’s shebeens back in the days with albums such as Yinhle Lento, Iphupho, Woza Mpelasonto, Insuku Ezadlula, Isiphalaphala and many more.

Steve Kekana will share the stage with the Kings of Mbaqanga for the first time.

Zinja Ziyamluma from Tsholotsho has carved his name across the Limpopo having also bagged a nomination at the 2013 South African Traditional Music Awards.Speaking from Downtown Studios where the group is rehearsing for the show, Black Moses promised the Bulawayo fans an “unforgettable show”.

“We are happy to be back in Bulawayo to entertain our fans. The loyalty that has been shown by our fans in this city is something that the Soul Brothers will forever cherish,” said Ngwenya. The Chronicle
