Riot police have disrupted and teargassed a rally organised by the opposition Movement for Democratic Change (MDC-T) in Zvishavane today.

MDC Vice President Nelson Chamisa confirmed the development in a brief interview with Nehanda Radio on Sunday.

Following an initial police ban on the demo, the MDC challenged the decision in court and the resident magistrate in Zvishavane on Friday ruled that the rally could go ahead.
