South African comedian Loyiso Gola recently took a swipe at President Jacob Zuma, alleging that the head of state only looks after his own interests.
Despite the “Caster Joke” backlash, the comedian is not one to hold his tongue when it comes to the country’s affairs as he recently took to Twitter to publicly criticise the president- Amidst reports of the Hawks conducting an investigation into Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan and allegations of state-capture by President Zuma.
“Zuma doesn’t think of other people… he only thinks of himself. Go away, man,” Loyiso tweeted to his followers in Xhosa.
Loyiso recently faced a Twitter storm with his remarks about Caster Semenya.
“Some of you took a break from witch crafting to watch Caster. She really did unite the nation. Fly safely back to Limpopo,” he wrote.
His latest remarks again raised eyebrows, with some fans suggesting that he should be careful with his tweets because of his celebrity status.
However he responded to these concerns by pointing out that he has always been outspoken about the president- and actually doesn’t “give a f*ck”.
