The Zimbabwe Fashion Showcase UK keeps growing in leaps and bounds. The three day event spread over the 28-30th of July in London and Birmingham delivered the expected glitz and glamour. Below are pictures from the event.
Under the theme “Diversity, Creativity & Colour meets the Runway” the event featured designers ‘RAAAH, Tsitsi Fred Knitwear, Pesnique, House of Hohwa, S.Vingo and guest designer Braid Couture who took to the stage with their creative, elegant and inspiring collections on the opening night.
Hosted by BBC Radio Leicester’s ‘Kevin Ncube’ and actress/presenter ‘Nyasha Michelle’ the showcase saw the models hit the runway in the various collections while the audience looked in awe as they erupted with hand claps and head gestures of approval.
In attendance was the Lord Mayor of Birmingham, Councillor Carl Rice and Lady Mayoress Mrs Deed Curry who opened the event with a welcome speech. Entertainment on the night was provided by ‘Uzambezi Traditional Dancers’, as they took to the stage with their traditional sounds and dance. They had the crowd entertained and engaged non-stop.
“The collections were all remarkable and yet unique in their own special way” said Zimbabwe Fashion Showcase UK founder Chiedza Dawn Ziyambe. “The platform was created to showcase and promote the creative efforts of Zimbabwe’s emerging and talented designers/stylists and I am delighted we are able to do just that”.
The main sponsors of the event were World Remit, Integrar & Radiant Glo. The event was also supported by BAWR, BEN TV, Bespoke Gifts, GBI Business Hub and Reminisce Messages.
