UK based international calling service run by Zimbabweans

A group of Zimbabweans based in the United Kingdom have come together and set up an International Calling Service that allows customers to make cheap calls to Zimbabwe and other countries in Southern Africa.

Kukunda which has been running for under a year says it has built a web application to enable users to register and manage cheap international calls on the go from anywhere in the world.

In the Shona language “Kukunda” means victory and the company believes they are offering a service which is “bringing that liberating connectivity to everyone who wants to stay in touch with family and friends at a fraction of a price and in a convenient way.”

According to Kukunda, making calls to Zimbabwe and Southern Africa using Kukunda is cheaper than what most people think. Calls start from as little as $0.06/minute!

Customers can manage their account from anywhere and anytime. In Kukunda User Portal, customers can change password, securely top up with paypal, debit or credit card, manage numbers, transaction history and manage their profile details. This can all be done on Kukunda website or on a mobile app (android only).

Kukunda web application works with a softphone (free mobile app) which is used to make the calls. The mobile app is linked to the user details and as soon as the customer top ups the app is updated and ready to make calls.
