HIGHLANDERS dismantled hosts Hwange in the last 13 minutes in intense heat at the Colliery to get their 2016 Castle Lager Premier League off to a perfect start yesterday.
The coalminers had looked resolute throughout the contest only to collapse towards the end of the contest.
It all started in the 77th minute when enterprising Bosso left-back Bruce Kangwa opened the scoring after banging in from close range.
Double scorer Knox Mutizwa secured the points.
Hwange stand in head coach Mebelo Njekwa was at pains at the end of the game as he wondered how his charges collapsed after showing a lot of resilience.
“We had played well but the boys collapsed in the last fifteen minutes of the game to deliver the game to Highlanders on a silver platter.
“Well it is the first game, we have to dust ourselves up and be ready for the next challenge,” he said.
Bosso’s Dutch coach Erol Akbay challenged his men to keep fighting.
“The first half was bad and I don’t know what was happening but the second half went well and we got the goals,” he said.
