Transit Crew founding member, Munyaradzi “Ras Munya”, Nyemba, has died. Nyemba, 55, died on Friday morning after succumbing to a heart attack.

Ras Munya, who had been with Transit Crew since 1988 as a bass guitarist, was laid to rest in his rural home, Bhasera in Chivhu yesterday. He is survived by his wife and two children.
In an interview, one of the band members, Mannex said:
“It’s so sad and such a great loss to the reggae fraternity, family and to musicians in Zimbabwe as a whole.
“His death came as a surprise to us because he was the first one on Friday morning to pass his morning greetings on out band WhatsApp group but then later heard that he had a heart attack and died on his way to Avenues Clinic.
“He had a heart attack last year in September but it’s unfortunate this time it took him away us and his family.”
He added: “He was such a good guitarist one of the best in the country and his shoes will be hard to fill. We will forever miss him and cherish his works.”
