HARARE – Former Warriors midfielder LEO KURAUZVIONE has been set free, at least for now. The former Dynamos star is facing allegations of insulting and threatening his younger brother’s 15-year-old girlfriend.

Kurauzvione has been removed from further remand following the failure by some of the state witnesses to appear in court on two consecutive occasions. Harare Magistrate Victoria Mashamba was left with no option but refuse his further remand.
Kurauzvione is denying the charges. He states that his brother, Innocent, was in a relationship with the complainant who got pregnant. At one point he (Innocent) got moved to stay with Leo in Kadoma where he worked.
“Complainant phoned the accused when he was at work and he said he was busy and was not in a position to talk to her. It was the end of their conversation,” the defence said.
“After sometime complainant phoned accused enquiring about her boyfriend, who is young brother to accused and he told her that he didnt want to be involved.
“The reason was that she had eloped to their family and his mother did not accept her as her in-law. Although there was communication between the two families – Kurauzvione and 15-year- old’s family- the accused decided to distance himself from the issue.” H Metro
