A man serving jail time for rape has been handed another 10 years behind bars after admitting to sodomising a fellow inmate at Mutimurefu Maximum Prison.
Andrew Marembo, 20, from Makore Village in Gutu, admitted his guilt before Masvingo magistrate Judith Zuyu for forcing himself on a fellow prisoner in August last year, My Zimbabwe reported on Friday.
“The court heard that on 20 August last year around midnight, Marembo sneaked into his victim’s blankets and got hold of the victim’s waist and forcibly removed his shorts,” according to the report.
“The victim tried to fight Marembo’s advances but he was overpowered, leading to Marembo inserting his erect manhood into the complainant’s anus.
“A report was made the following morning to prison wardens and the victim was rushed to hospital for a medical check-up and a report was produced in court as evidence.
Three years of his sentence was conditionally suspended for five years. Times Live
