Sound clash connoisseurs Tendai “DJ Flevah” Tembo and Etherton “Etherton Beenie” Mutemasango are delivering this year’s highly-anticipated instalment of their famed UK sound systems clash dubbed Zimbabwe Cup Clash UK 2015 on March 28 in Dunstable.

The Zimbabwe Cup Clash UK 2015 is earmarked to be heavily attended, organisers said.

A fiery line-up for the sizzling sound system competition was announced last week, which also includes DJ Fydel of Black Identity Records, I-Randu, Team ILove, Dancehall Defenda and many others.

And consequently, the buzz surrounding this year’s clash is incredible!

The annual cup clash, made popular by King Alfred, will feature some of the best selectors on the dancehall scene.

The New Generation boss, King Alfred, is hosting the event, modelled along the Jamaican reggae dancehall bashes.

Zimbabweans in the UK are said to be gripped by the dancehall reggae fever, “blazing them tunes,” said a DJ who will be part of the sound systems.

Reggae became popular in Zimbabwe when icon Bob Marley performed in Harare on the eve of Zimbabwe’s independence in 1980.

Since then, the dancehall craze has grown, inspired by early pioneering reggae dancehall DJs such as the late Jah B, who will be given a special tribute at the UK gig.

DJ Flevah said he was thrilled to be heading to the UK for the bash.

A spokesperson for the UK Cup Clash told local media: “This year, we are taking the contest to a whole new level and selectors will go head-to-head in the all-night battle that promises nothing but the very best in reggae dancehall music.” Daily News
