Two young priests die in car accident

The Jesuit Communications office is reporting the death of two young priests belonging to the Diocese of Chinhoyi.

Father Ignatius Kariati and Father Alfred Matonhodze were involved in a car accident, early Saturday morning while traveling from Bindura back to Mt Darwin.

The two were stationed as assistant priests at Kriste Mambo parish.

Reports indicate that their vehicle veered off the road and hit a bridge.

Father Kariati and Matonhodze “were ordained priests on September 7, 2013 and August 9, 2014 respectively” the Jesuit Communications office said.

Requiem Masses for the two will take place on Monday at the Chinhoyi Pastoral Centre.
