Zwizwai said Zanu PF must remove the thugs who are controlling various commuter loading zones in the city.

“Zanu PF should demobilise rank marshals who are extorting money from kombi crews and harassing women,” he said.

The MP said the thugs were known as Mandimbandimba or Chipangano.

“It is the burden of Zanu PF that these characters are flushed out of the termini. It is important for Zanu PF to appreciate that women have a right to wear as they please.”

Police have arrested a 32-year-old Harare tout, Marvellous Kandemiri who last week allegedly undressed a woman at 4th Street Bus Terminus in the company of other touts.

He appeared in court on Monday and was denied bail. He will be back in court on January 12.

The tout and others who are still at large accused the woman of indecent dressing.

The women’s movement came out guns blazing when the video of the abused women went viral.

Paul Vingi, a gender activist with Padare — a men’s forum — blasted the vendors.

“We condemn such barbaric behaviour, they are men who urinate in the street but no one harasses them. Women should feel free to walk on the streets and men should respect that. Shallow men abuse women on the street,” he said. Daily News
