Prophet Tendai Chipara of the New Revelation Ministries Church has urged people to pray over a cyclone that will result in floods which he said are going to affect some countries in southern Africa.
“I saw a vision of uncontrolled rains in an African country. There was massive loss of life and I am urging people to pray that the floods won’t cause massive loss of human life,” he said.
Prophet Chipara said his church was planning a massive crossover crusade to pray against the impending disaster.
The grouping, New Revelation Apostolic Church, was founded by Prophet Abel Mutumwa and is fast growing, with branches in Zimbabwe and South Africa already established. Like any Pentecostal church, the assembly performs miracles and healings.
Ever since he quit sungura music, Chipara has been spreading the gospel, giving prophecies along the way. He claims many people have testified to how they were healed at the church.
Last month, Chipara, who is now known as ‘Miracle Paul’, said he had a vision depicting serious accidents this festive season.
“I saw a vision of about 154 coffins along the road, and there was wailing and bloodbath. This coming season, there is going to be serious accidents and as Christians, we should do something about it.
“Ever since I saw that vision, as a church we have been praying about it. The routes that I saw in my vision are Harare-Domboshava and Harare-Chitungwiza (and so) we decided to give the kombi drivers holy water to avert the disaster,” he said.
He said the prophecy was slowly being fulfilled, with many accidents already recorded compared to last year. He urged people to also continue praying.
Police say 515 road accidents have been recorded to date compared to 470 during the same period last year.
Police spokesperson Chief Superintendant Paul Nyathi said 31 people have already died during the festive season, representing the same number of people killed last year.
He said 262 people were injured compared to 138 last year, adding that they have already impounded 1 239 vehicles for defects while 52 150 tickets have been issued out for various traffic offences.
Chief Superintendant Nyathi said major causes of accidents include speeding, overtaking errors and failure to give way by drivers on approaching road junctions, intersections and other controlled points. The Zimbabwe Mail
