Ringo has until January to settle tax debt

SOUTH AFRICA – Singer Ringo Madlingozi has until the end of January to settle his tax debt, the SA Revenue Services (Sars) said on Friday.

His R4000 fine on each count was wholly suspended for five years on condition that he not be convicted of the same offences in that time, she said in a statement.

The Xhosa-singing musician failed to make his workers’ Pay As You Earn contributions to Sars even though he had been deducting it from their salaries since 1999.
