KADOMA – One person was killed Thursday in the morning around 2am on the road from Kadoma to Kwekwe near Battlefields.
According to a Nehanda Citizen Reporter who sent us these pictures, the driver of the Canter died on the spot while the driver of the KB escaped unhurt.
Accidents continue to claim the lives of many on Zimbabwean roads.
In February this year the Traffic Safety Council of Zimbabwe (TSCZ) recommended a ban on the importation of secondhand tyres blaming them for contributing to the sudden rise in road traffic accidents.
Many analysts blame human factors like over-speeding, drunken driving, indiscipline and impatience by drivers, very low fines for road offences and non-removal of broken down vehicles along roads for a long time.
Other factors include a total disregard of road regulations, fatigue by drivers, expired tyres, red-light jumping, driving without licences, as well as stray animals on roads.
