The company involved in the production of Makosi Today (Season 2) has revealed that US$15 000 was spent to make the whole season. Former UK Big Brother housemate Makosi Musambasi fronts the show.
“We are still calculating how much was spent, but I am sure it was more than $15 000 we used to produce season. It is more than what we spent last season, but we travelled a lot this time around,” said Tsitsi Madoda, one of the producers.
Makosi said: “We seek to change the face of Africa one story at a time. For some time one side of the African story has been told by those who can afford to, but there is danger in telling one side of the story.”
Show director Munya “Bloggo” Dodo said, “The second Season has 13 TV episodes and a new web-based series called Makosi Extra which has about 9 episodes where we are out and about. Short, impromptu, and packaged for the internet specifically.”
Makosi Today Season 2 was previewed at the Wednesday Film Club at a fully packed Book Café. Makosi did not attend the preview as she was said to be in Ghana sourcing content, but she was well represented by her family and the production team of the reality series.
