Biti caught between hell and death

Opinion by Itai Dzamara

The dust is almost settled, the battle decidedly determined, and the group of MDC rebels is caught in a cul-de-sac. It is a horrible situation akin to facing a den of lions in front, while the ground behind is collapsing fast.

The MDC rebels recklessly planted landmines and bombs that are consuming the ground behind them – they can only limp forward and surrender to be consumed by the den of lions.

Or, alternatively, the Biti group may continue huffing and puffing right where they are – until the vicious bombs exploding behind them catch up and start blowing off their naked backs, to invite the lions to feed on the heap of bodies.

That is an embodiment of the Biti group’s political disaster.

Here is why.

The very stupid ploy the MDC rebels had thought would help them cheat through, has flopped, as the claim to have taken over the MDC stultifies into oblivion. Even to their own admission and narrative, the Biti group now knows that even the most stupid people won’t buy their trick and lie.

Gradually, even media outlets that had tried to sanitise and campaign for the Biti group’s madness, are climbing down and stopping the attempt to sell the claim of a coup having succeeded. So, number one, the rebellion flopped, its participants exposed themselves and have become very sick political fools in town.

Their only option left is going out or away, what they would call ‘moving forward’. Then, number two, they can’t go out, away, or forward, because of the cumulative circumstances and effect of their suicidal, stupid and unstrategic things they have done in the past five months.

The MDC rebels find it difficult to officially form their very little party, not much because of the embarrassment that shall be caused by the farce, but, really because that would effectively destroy the little ground upon which they stand today.

Officially launching their little party would effectively mean the Biti group ceding their faint hold on chances to fight for MDC assets and funds, both in the current account and also due from government.

Now, that is one of the secret missions of the Biti group and its hidden handlers, including Zanu PF – to sabotage the MDC by taking away or even stealing as much as possible from its assets and funds.

Therefore, the prevailing reality demands that the Biti group stays floating in the air to maintain the flimsy grounds on which their secret assets and funds mission is established.

But, by staying stuck between the den of lions in front and exploding bombs in the background, the MDC rebels are exposing themselves to increasing test and condemnation of their doomed mission.

It is becoming clearer by each passing day, to Zimbabweans, that the Biti team is a gang of charlatans who have no capacity to do even a tenth of what they have been threatening and claiming.

That, in addition to having failed with the coup, the MDC rebels, have very little numbers joining their project, and therefore set for failure.

The Biti group are demonstrating to their handlers and funders, the truth of their little capacity and stupid strategies – thereby repudiating the lies and false claims they had used to hoodwink them.

Gradually, the people are seeing through the fallacy and lies, such as that the gatherings of the Biti group, purported to be meetings of MDC structures are a non-event, in comparison to the real numbers of the party’s structures.
That can only accelerate the collapse of the Biti project.

Efficaciously, by each passing day, the MDC rebels are losing sympathy and support through the self-evident situation of them being caught between hell boiling behind them and the inevitable political death beckoning if they attempt any step forward.

In conclusion it is not far-fetched to anticipate that the marooned Biti group shall in the end get consumed by both, the exploding bombs over their shoulders and also the pride of lions getting hungrier and angrier by each day.

Zanu PF and the other hidden forces will get to the point of pulling the trigger and the hell hath no fury like the system wanting its dues back, or deciding to wreck the ship.

From the other end, only a miracle or very blatant abuse of the law can rescue the Biti group from losing the fight for MDC assets and funds.

I am sure even the devil can no longer guarantee that.
