No doubt all of the three artists command a huge following especially in their own backyard, but the onus will be on the multi-award-winning musician, Jah Prayzah, who will be trying to garner respect from local fans, all who love and appreciate one of the oldest musicians and greatest composers in Zimbabwe, Chipanga.

Shumba is also another great performer who has never disappointed, but always strives to get better with each performance. Whenever Shumba performs, he uplifts souls.

Such is the calibre of musicians that the Tsviriyo hit-maker will be facing on Sunday afternoon. The family show, according to the organisers, is meant to bring together different age groups to enjoy the beauty of music.

Hosiah Chipanga is set to jump onto the stage at 2pm, while Blessing Shumba will perform from 4pm.

Jah Prayzah will take over at 7pm till late.

“We are bringing all people together. These are three different genres which are competitive and equally exciting. All age groups are welcome. They should come and enjoy music and meet their favourite artists,” said the organisers.

Jah Prayzah, backed by his 3rd Generation Band, recently put up a top-drawer performance in front at a jam-packed Pick and Save Supperrette.

The show was described by music pundits as the best ever show at the venue.

In an interview, the thankful Jah Prayzah said fans in Mutare have always been “wonderful”.

“I don’t grow weary performing in Mutare. Fans there are marvellous. Their response recently was out of this world. We want to promise them another great performance on Sunday. We will not disappoint,” he said.

Shumba, in a separate interview, said the Holy Psalms would definitely deliver the best.

“We are glad to meet our fans at such a platform. We will put up our best show and fans should look forward to our sampling of new songs from our forthcoming album. Performing before our local fans gives us buoyancy,” he said. Manica Post
