Full interview with the man behind ‘unotoshaya kuti zvirikufamba sei’

For months Zimbabweans have been entertained by the hilarious “unotoshaya kuti zviri fufamba sei” skits without knowing the man behind the productions. 

On Wednesday, Richard Matimba, a teacher at the Dominican Convent school in Harare spoke to journalist Lance Guma.

He explains the motivation behind his skits and how the idea developed.

Matimba, a musician, was recently in the UK on the back of a musical tour that saw his marimba playing school group visit Dubai, Sweden, Germany, Denmark as part of a cultural exchange.

The tour organized by Kutinya Arts also included students from Chisipite, Bishopslea and Dominican Convent schools.

In the UK they taught ‘marimba playing’ to students at the posh ACS Cobham International School in London. Many celebrities send their kids to that school.
