Prudence Katomeni jets into the UK for awards

Afro-jazz singer Prudence Katomeni Mbofana, who headlines this year’s Zimbabwe Achievers Awards (ZAA) ceremony, jetted into the UK on Monday. She arrived at Heathrow Airport around 2pm.

This will be Prudence’s maiden live performance as a solo artiste in the UK, and the ‘Baba Abhoyi’ hitmaker is excited to be travelling to share her art and her passion with her compatriots.

Nehanda Radio understands she will play music from her long and fruitful musical journey, including her eponymous album ‘Prudence’.

With her catchy smile and lovely dimples, Katomeni-Mbofana has been one of the beautiful faces of the jazz scene and the big screen.

Many will remember her performance in the 1994 movie ‘More Time’, a Zimbabwean drama exploring the effect of AIDS in teenage relationships and ends with an earnest plea for more awareness and safer behavior.
