A Harare man told the court that his former girlfriend does not deserve custody of their daughter because she is in a same sex love affair.

Edward Sanderson 43, said ever since he broke up with the mother of his four-year-old daughter, Laureen Mckay, 29, she is now a lesbian.
Edward made these allegations at the civil court where he was brought by Laureen who was seeking a protection order against him.
“I am not disturbing her peace and I don’t want her back in my life but my only concern in that this woman has now changed from being a woman into a lesbian and I am afraid that this might negatively affect our daughter.
“She started being a lesbian 16 months ago and she has been bringing her girlfriend at the house she is staying with our child and started hugging and kissing with the woman so I don’t want my daughter to end up doing the same things,” said Edward.
He went on to tell the court that he had enough evidence to prove that Laureen was lesbian.
“The only reason I go to her house is because I would want to see my daughter and she doesn’t allow me. It is true that she is now lesbian, if the court would want evidence of what I am talking about I can produce it,” he claimed.
Meanwhile, Laureen denied Edward’s lesbian claims, on her protection order claims, she said that she wanted to be protected against Edward’s violent behaviour.
“I divorced this man four years ago and he has been harassing me since then, he insults me through the phone and he follows me wherever I go so I want him barred from doing that. As for the lesbianism accusations he is making against me they are not true” said Laureen.
Magistrate Tafadzwa Muvhami, who presided over the case, granted the protection order which bars Edward from disturbing Laureen’s peace. He was also advised to apply for custody if he wished to have custody of the child. H Metro
