A Mutoko Apostolic sect woman has continued to live in the bush since the onset of the rainy season last year when she vowed she would only come down to the people when God gives her the blessings she was promised in her dreams.

The woman, and her two school going children have been living in Mutemwa, a revered hill in Mutoko, but have since relocated to a mountain-kopje which walls the eastern sides of Cottco and G.M.B Mutoko.
The woman sleeps in an open place at the summit of the kopje. The children spend most of their time looking for firewood for resale in Mutoko Growth Point suburbs while their mother makes sure she doesn’t miss a minute of prayer.
While at one time the two minors are said to have disappeared from their mother and went back to their rural home here in Mutoko, they have since reunited with their mother.
Well placed sources say the woman’s husband died a few years ago in unclear circumstances in which the woman was rumoured to have been involved, and now he is avenging.

When this reporter passed through the woman’s shrine, she was busy praying, kneeling on her knees and ankles, completely covered in white garment. When this reporter came back after close to two hours, the woman was still in the same position, praying and there was no chance for an interview.
Two small blankets, (a blue and a grey one) were spread on the ‘floor, a very small pink radio (with torch) in front of her head, a small clay pot on a fire place and another white garment hanging on a shade. A sungura tune was playing on a Radio Zimbabwe programme on the small radio which was put to full blast.
Initially some people used to visit the woman seeking spiritual help but now they are suspecting her to have mental problems. They are now appealing for her to seek spiritual intervention.
