HARARE – There was drama near a First Street Chicken Inn sanitary lane after a married vendor was caught in a compromising position with a suspected hooker. Costa Katsande was interrupted by his wife Monica Mhlanga just moments before he ‘slept’ with Chipo Moyo.
The incident resulted in Mhlanga seeking refuge at the First Street Police Post after she had been attacked by Moyo. Mhlanga said she received a tip off from a fellow vendor that her husband had hooked up with Chipo heading into the sanitary lane.
“Someone told me that my husband had taken Chipo to the sanitary lane and I rushed there and caught them in an compromising position.
“I confronted them and she held me by the collar and started assaulting me. I could not stand her power and I rushed to the police to report (ndaudzwa kuti vapinda mumukoto ndimo mandava bata),” she said.
Katsande did not dispute the incident, attributing it to evil spirits “ingori mweya yetsvina yangondibata otherwise todonana nemukadzi wangu.”
Other vendors at the scene described Chipo, who they called Florence, as a hooker who has sexual relations with several men. Other males at the scene even claimed to have slept with her, “ndakatombopindapaari” shouted a man from the crowd.
“Anotengesa zed pa Presbyterian muna Samora and anonzi Florence arikunyeba kuti anonzi Chipo anokechesa, nemaguard anotopinda paari.”
Chipo neither confirmed nor disputed the allegations, saying she had been trapped.
“I do not know what they are saying they called me to the scene and started assaulting me. We have dated but we broke up. He is the one who kept pressing me till we dated,” she said.
She accused Mhlanga of being a hooker too, “Costa Akandiudza kuti ndiwe unohura ndosaka achiuya kwandiri and you abuse him that is why you were named John Cena. Hauna staira that’s why your husband comes to me batai murume wenyu zvakanaka mai mwana,” she boasted.
