Prophet arrested for sodomising client

HARARE – A 30 year-old prophet was last week brought before the Harare magistrates’ court on allegations of sodomising his client aged 17, after telling him that he had to undergo a cleansing ceremony.

Allegations are that Samuel Mauride of Budiriro 4 Extension had told the boy that he was possessed by evil spirits and he sodomised him before the prophet was arrested for aggravated indecent assault charges.

Indications are that Samuel had gone to the boy’s (name withheld) house on March 11, and told him that he was possessed with evil spirits so he was supposed to go through a cleansing ceremony.

It is said that Samuel told the boy that a spiritual woman was being intimate with him in his sleep hence that had to be cast out.

Agreed facts are that around 11pm, they slept in the boy’s room and during the night, Samuel started pleasuring the complainant saying he wanted to obtain his sperm but to avail as the boy is said to have failed to ‘arrive’.

Its alleged Samuel started caressing the boy and he also removed his shorts and sodomised him, before he also forced the boy to have anal intercourse with him. After the act, they fell asleep.

It’s alleged that on another occasion while the complainant was fast asleep, Samuel also sodomised him before he (Samuel) was arrested. The State requires that a medical affidavit be produced in court as an exhibit.
