A youthful looking man has claimed that he is Hosiah Chipanga’s ‘forgotten secret love child’. He came out guns blazing accusing the Mutare based artist of neglecting him since childhood.

Christened Lancelot Chibwana, the 28 year-old man exclusively told H-Metro that he was not in good books with Chipanga. Lancelot blamed the Vapiridzi Veshoko boss for his failures in life.
The outspoken man said that Chipanga did not play a fatherly role since his childhood, forcing him to stay with his mother’s relatives until he tracked him in Mutare in 2005.
“My mother cohabited with my father sometime in the 80’s.they never stayed together for such a long time and the result of their affair was me. Her name was Memory Chibwana and she died in 1994.
“I have been staying with my uncles KwaBhora for the rest of my life. It is where I grew up until I decided to track my father in Mutare sometime in 2005,” he said. Lancelot said Chipanga accepted him when he tracked him in 2005 but they never clicked.
“Things were not well for me and I decided to join my father’s band as a doorman. I used to collect cash at the gate and even tried playing some guitars but my father never trusted me. We worked together for nearly two years and he fired me from the band forcing me to retreat back to the rural areas,” he said.
He said Chipanga chucked him out of the band on accusations that he was seeing many women. Lancelot said that his father also accused him of being irresponsible.
“I have tried to talk and get assistance from him but nothing came up. He is even denying me access to his stand in Southley Park, which was allocated to him under the musician’s scheme,” he said.
Chipanga could neither confirm nor deny the allegations. The lankly guitarist said he was not at liberty to discuss the matter in the press saying there were so many issues behind the story.
“I don’t know why he decided to approach the press. I have many relatives or friends where he could have gone before going to press. I don’t think I can answer those questions,” he said.
Quizzed whether Lancelot was his biological son or not, Chipanga said:
“I don’t think I am able to answer you at this moment. I think I have told you that there are so many issues behind the story”. H Metro
