Guinea held on to take all three points in Harare after edging Zimbabwe 0-1 in the opening qualifying match for the FIFA 2014 World Cup finals in Brazil.

The Syli Nationale rode their luck at times but emerged unscathed thanks to Ibrahima Traore’s first-half free-kick and some resilient second-half defending.

Zimbabwe dominated the game, but did not take the chances that came their way. The game was settled by Traore’s free kick which eluded a six-man Zimbabwe wall.
