HARARE- After killing over 20 000 people in Matabeleland, displacing nearly a million in Operation Murambatsvina and murdering over 500 opposition supporters, Robert Mugabe is hoping his new fashion label will dress things up.

Nehanda Radio.com understands a new fashion stable, House of Gushungo, whose label is Mugabe’s signature, has now been launched in Harare. The label under Yedu Nesu Holdings, has introduced a new clothing line.
A report by the ZANU PF controlled ZBC television news channel claimed “the clothing stable is set to redefine the country’s fashion industry which is mostly dominated by foreign clothing labels. The contemporary line appeals to today’s modern men and women, offering style, comfort and a splash of attitude.”
House of Gushungo Chairman, Dr Nicholas Munyonga said they saw it fit to celebrate Mugabe’s ‘achievements’ in style. “We decided to come up with something that is long lasting, something that will last forever and in honour of the our President,” he said.
The report says “the R.G Mugabe label will feature various distinctive collections, the “must have” basics that will carry over from season-to-season. From female tops, golf t-shirts, formal shirts, winter jackets and caps, among others; Cde Mugabe’s signature is embedded on them.”
Mugabe’s popularity is at an all time low with the recent Wikileaks revelations showing that even some of his most trusted lieutenants were plotting his ouster with US diplomats. Mugabe’s age and ailing health have also made his candidature in the next election even less appealing, not to mention his reliance on violence. Nehanda Radio.com
