Charges against Timothy Utedzi, a 34 year old Zimbabwean man in the United Kingdom accused of a brutal sex attack on a 96-year-old woman, have now been dropped according to a spokesman for Thames Valley Police.

Utedzi was arrested in July over an incident at a care home in Wendover, Aylesbury that took place on the 30th June. He appeared in court twice before the sexual assault charges were withdrawn.
In July we reported how a spokeswoman from the UK Crown Prosecution Service said Utedzi was charged with assault on a female “by penetration with part of the body or a thing.” But several months down the line the charges have been dropped.
“I can confirm that the court case against Mr Utedzi has been dropped. This was due to the alleged victim in the case, who is 96-years-old, being unable to give evidence in court due to health reasons,” a police spokesman said.
Utedzi, previously of Greenend Avenue, Johnstone, Renfrewshire, before he left to live in Norwich, said he was “trying to rebuild my life”. He added: “I just want to get on with life now, there is no point dwelling over this incident.”
