We have just been told under fire Dynamos coach Llyod Mutasa has resigned during a meeting held this morning in Harare. Former players Callisto Pasuwa, Tonderai Ndiraya and Tichaona Diya have been appointed as caretaker coaches.

It’s also being speculated that Moses Chunga will be appointed Dynamos coach after rumoured negotiations are concluded. We believe Chunga has also selected Pasuwa, Ndiraya and Dhiya to be his assistants and that’s why they are steadying the ship until he formalizes his departure from Gunners FC.

It’s been a stop start season for DeMbare under Mutasa and even a double over bitter rivals CAPS United has not been enough to appease the fans. There was some support particularly in the forums with one fan saying “stop changing coaches, just buy quality players, period.”

Dynamos are currently 4th in the league having played 19 matches in which they have won 8, drawn 6, lost 5 and scored 19 goals against conceding 11. A draw over the weekend against Black Mambas who are 12this thought to have raised doubts about Mutasa’s coaching credentials.

Club chairman Kennedy Mubaiwa confirmed Pasuwa had been appointed on a temporary basis until the end of the season. Former midfielder Tonderai Ndiraya who is also the club’s junior coach will assist Pasuwa while Tichaona Diya retained his post as the goalkeeper’s coach.

“We terminated Lloyd Mutasa’s contract today because he had failed to meet the target on his contract. His contract was clear that he should get 23 points from 10 games and if that failed, it would be terminated, so we just referred back to his contract and we couldn’t confirm it.

“Calisto Pasuwa will be the acting coach up to the end of the season and he will be assisted by Ndiraya and Tichaona Diya who will remain the goalkeeper’s coach. We will assess their performance up to the end of the season and if a need arises then we will bring suitable replacements,” said Mubaiwa. Nehanda Radio.com
