Whoever was hired to do the sound and power-point presentation for the Zimbabwe Achievers Awards in London on Saturday should never be found near such a prestigious event in their life again.
The amateurish display in rolling out the awards could not however take away from the glitz and the glamour that accompanied the event. Most of the prominent Zimbabwean celebrities in the UK bar a few were in attendance.
Zimbabwe born British Heavyweight Boxing Champion Dereck Chisora, Shingai Shoniwa-lead singer of the Noisettes, Miss Tourism Zimbabwe Cynthia Muvirimi, pop singer Tinashe, BKay n Kazz, Cynthia Mare, Jusa and legendary ZBC radio 2 DJ and TV personality Ezra ‘Tshisa’ Sibanda graced the occasion.
Prominent winners on the night included Tinashe (Best Video), Andy Flower (Sports Personality), BKay n Kazz (Male Artist), Shingai Shoniwa (Honourary Award), Lance Guma (Journalist of the Year), King Alfred (DJ of the Year), Dumi Senda (Male Personality) and Obert Mazivisa (Gospel Artist of the Year).
