Gospel diva Fungisai Zvakavapano-Mashavave has been lined up to present her own talk show on the state controlled Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC) television station.

“Plans are underway to conduct my talk show that is likely to start showing in the next few months. It is part of my social responsibility programme. As an icon to a number of Zimbabwean youths, I feel I have a role to play as a role model,” she told us.
Fungisai’s show will centre on reproductive health, HIV and Aids. “Many young girls are losing direction because of peer pressure and misdirection. They end up aborting and committing suicide or making desperate decisions because they lack guidance.
“However, you cannot separate teens with HIV. I have prioritised the subject because some parents are not open to discuss issues of reproductive health, growth, puberty among other issues,” she added.
“My talk show merges with the word of God. I love talking and teaching the youth to fear God and how they should cope with life.” Fungisai said she has taken a cue from her role model Rebecca Malope who runs a number of talk shows on SABC. “I love Rebecca and I am her fan.
