Wealthy British aristocrat working in Zimbabwe mine

A wealthy British aristocrat is reported to be working at an unnamed mine in Zimbabwe.

Lord Glamis the heir to the title of the Earl of Strathmore and Kinghorne in Britain was last week banned for nine months from driving by a British court after hitting 102 miles per hour riding on a motorbike.

According to a BBC report Lord Glamis was not present at Jedburgh Sheriff Court to hear his fate and the strange explanation given was that he is working in a mine in Zimbabwe.

Charged under the name of Sam Patrick Glamis, of Glamis Castle, near Forfar, he admitted breaching the A68’s 60 miles per hour limit on 23 May.

Jedburgh Sheriff Court was told that Lord Glamis’ licence had accumulated 23 penalty points due to various speeding convictions. As well as being disqualified, he was fined £500 by Sheriff Kevin Drummond.
