Moyo re-deployment early x-mas present

Must Try

Trending

The MDC leadership in South Africa is excited about Simon Khaya Moyo’s redeployment to the Zanu PF’s Shake-shake building in Harare.

The out-going ambassador failed dismally to provide a fatherly protection to three millions Zimbabweans staying in South Africa who are daily falling prey to marauding and corrupt members of the South Africa Policing Service.

Zimbabweans in South Africa are victims of police brutality and objects of assault by xenophobic South African communities, but Khaya Moyo remained tight-lipped as his lambs continued to be pounced on.

I wrote to Khaya-Moyo requesting him to visit Zimbabweans who were victims of xenophobic attacks, who had taken camp at police stations, but he never even came back to me.

He neither even uttered a word in public condemning the fatal attacks on his flock nor issued any message of condolense. Imagine!

I had a meeting with Khaya-Moyo soon after the signing of the Global Political Agreement together with my Chairman Austin Moyo where we highlighted to him the need for the embassy to intervene whenever rights of Zimbabweans were being tramped upon. He promised to do something, but nothing came out.

I again wrote to Khaya-Moyo to alert him over the persecution of Zimbabwe students studying under the Presidential Scholarship Scheme at Fort-Hare University. As usually he remained out of action, but only acknowledged receipt of my communication to him.

Three million Zimbabweans would remember Simon Khaya Moyo as an aloof and uncaring shepherd.

As Khaya-Moyo packs his bags heading for Harare to join the Zanu PF’s political furnace- The Presidium-   we have no doubt that embassy will now change hands as stipulated in the global political agreement.

As the majority party of Zimbabwe, MDC will give three million Zimbabweans staying in South Africa a caring Ambassador, who understands and appreciates the diplomatic need to uphold the rights of Zimbabweans. As an MDC structure we are looking forward to working with the new ambassador in his/her diplomatic duties.
