Fortune Muparutsa burial set for Saturday

The late Zimbabwean R&B star Fortune Muparutsa who died in the United Kingdom in October last year will be buried at Hillview Cemetery in Mutare this Saturday at 2pm.

A family spokesperson Kennedy Muparutsa said a Church Service was expected to have been held at Celebration Centre between 10am and 11am this Friday morning.

However by 12 midday the Church Service had not been held.

Fortune’s body is expected to be transported to Mutare, Saturday morning for burial.

His body arrived in the country Monday the 20th of July from the UK where he died after spending more than eight months in a funeral parlour due to squabbling by family members over burial arrangements.

Muparutsa rose to prominence in the early 1990s with such hits as Simbarashe, Rumours – Makuhwa and Wangu Ndega, popularly known as Kanda Matombo, among others. Source: Newsnet
