Judgement Yard in the UK for Cup Clash
UNITED KINGDOM – Popular Zimbabwean reggae dancehall group Judgement Yard arrived in the UK on Thursday for their maiden performance.
Sound clash connoisseurs Tendai “DJ Flevah” Tembo and Etherton “Etherton Beenie” Mutemasango are the main attraction at this year’s Zimbabwe Cup Clash set for Dunstable in Luton on Saturday.
This year the annual sound system competition on the dancehall side will feature DJ Envy (defending champion) DJ Fydel of Black Identity Records (reigning Southern African Cup Clash champion) and Dancehall Defenda.
On the Afro Beats side those going head to head will be Team 1Love (Silvaa King and Crew), Ace Entertainment and DJ Principal. The Judgement Yard team of DJ Flevah and Etherton Beenie will be the judges.
Winners in both Dancehall and Afro Beats sections will win £500.
The annual cup clash, made popular by the UK based King Alfred is modelled along the Jamaican reggae dancehall bashes.
A spokesperson for the Zimbabwe UK Cup Clash said “this year, we are taking the contest to a whole new level and selectors will go head-to-head in the all-night battle that promises nothing but the very best in reggae dancehall music.”
