Zim artist 8L drops hot Hip-Hop dance single

Zimbabwean hip-hop artist, Blessed Zikali popularly known as 8L, has just released a new single called Dangerous. He hopes the dance track will rock the club circuit locally and internationally. 

The song, produced by Russo, features Smiley who is a club and Star FM DJ. A video shoot has already been scheduled for this weekend.

“I wanted to make a song that is worthy of my name. I have a reputation for making good songs and this time l experimented and guess what…eureka! People are loving the song,” 8L said.

8L grew up in Kwekwe where he did his high school before moving to the University of Zimbabwe where he studied for his first degree in Statistics. He boasts that he is the most educated rapper with 2 masters’ degrees and works as a Research, Monitoring and Evaluation specialist for an international firm.

“It was school first and then rap later. Mama ain’t raised no fool. Thus my success is in my studies, music is my hobby. One day when music pays I will hang my degrees and flirt with the mic. Meanwhile rap kids are starving. I wish I could do more for these talented guys in the industry” 8L said.

8L has been involved in talent promotion and has held a couple of Hip Hop cyphers (freestyle rapping one after the other) to help upcoming rappers. He also has his own Hip-hop group called Clientele. He says the Dangerous remix has been recorded and it features Nox, Lady Squanda and Trae Yung.

“The remix is fire too, trust me. In this project I am trying to bring love to the music. I am known for promoting young people and also hosting hip-hop events so l thought l should bring the music community into one cd so you will realize from artists to production that I am getting almost everyone from dancehall to hip-hop and even jazz onto the project,” he added.
