According to the MDC-T Makadaya, who was a polling agent in Mhondoro Mubayira, was abducted somewhere between Sweetman polling station and the ward command centre at Gonza polling station. The party said he was on his way home to collect a jacket for the night.

Pictures posted on Facebook by the party reveal the extent of the youth activist’s injuries, with multiple, serious bruises across his back and burn wounds. It is understood he also suffered a broken leg.

Narrating his ordeal, Makadaya said he was abducted by a team of “goons,” led by a man who had asked him for directions. This unnamed man is understood to have phoned the group of thugs who arrived by car and pounced on Makadaya.

He was blindfolded with a piece of sack and taken to a secret location where he stayed the full five days of his ordeal. The MDC-T has claimed that Makadaya was only released after ZANU PF chairperson, Jeffrey Mutete, failed to give instructions on what to do with him. SW Radio Africa
