Prophet Uebert Angel promises ‘miracle fuel’ to worshippers in SA

A personal testimony by Anthony Jongwe

JOHANNESBURG – Tuesday night, youthful and charismatic preacher Prophet Uebert Angel of the Spirit Embassy church promised over 1000 cosmopolitan worshippers ‘miracle fuel’ in their car tanks during a sold-out religious event here.

Uebert Angel and wife BeverlyThis is the latest addition to his repertoire of ‘miracles’ which have become the subject of intense discussion and scrutiny in mainstream media and online social network platforms.

In the past, Prophet Angel and his equally prophetic wife Beverly Angel are reported to have performed miracles on money and bodyweight which are now famously referred to as ‘miracle money’ and ‘miracle weight-loss’ respectively.

He started his sermon by declaring that it was going to be a night of worship and prophecy and this was greeted with wild applause from the worshippers.

In his biblical teachings, Prophet Uebert Angels taught the worshippers the importance of belonging to a bible-believing church if they are to benefit from the ‘miracles’ that God had in plan for them throughout this year.

He encouraged worshippers to attend churches which had a prophetic anointing and recognised the good work being done his hosts in saving souls and spreading the word of God in South Africa.

Then came prophecy time which everyone was looking forward to and Prophet Uebert Angel and his wife Prophetess Beverly Angel lived up to the top billing. One young man, who appeared to be a South Africa citizen, received a highly acclaimed prophecy of a successful ministry targeting the youth of South Africa.

This is welcome especially considering the hopelessness that is plaguing today’s youth and which is driving many into moral decadence and debauchery. A couple was also granted a ‘miracle sex change’ of their unborn child.

Prophet Uebert Angel granted the wife’s request for a baby girl and declared that sex of the boy had been miraculously changed from boy to girl. Prophet Uebert Angel even pledged to give the couple money for a scan to confirm this miracle much to the amazement of worshippers.

The highlight of the eclectic night was when Prophet Angel declared ‘miracle fuel’ to all motorists in the congregation. He began by asking how many within the congregation had come to the event driving and proceeded to make a declaration.

“I am declaring miracle fuel for you tonight. Some of you will see that you now have ‘full’, ‘half’ and ‘quarter’ fuel in your tanks depending on where it was before”, declared Angel much to the delight of the motorists.

The cost of fuel has been on an upward trend in South Africa lately with the pump price for a litre of both diesel and petrol currently pegged at R12.97. Fuel is increasingly becoming a major cost item on the budget of many people here as they travel long distances within the Joburg Metropolitan area to and from work.

Even last night, many of the worshippers had travelled long distances from places such as Pretoria just to witness this prophetic night with Prophet Uebert Angel.

Prophet Angel promised worshippers more miracles throughout this week and pledged to perform his highly controversial ‘miracle weight-loss’ in which anyone can experience instant weight loss.

Prophet Uebert Angel even urged all skeptics of this particular miracle to bring their own scales to prove that this was not a stage-managed miracle gimmick.

In a country which tends to have problems with obesity, this surely promises to be a climax to the miracle crusade that has become the signature of Angel and his equally controversial friend Prophet Makandiwa of the UFI.

After witnessing first hand Prophet Angel in action, I found myself revisiting my earlier opinions that I had formed as a result of what I had read or heard from other sources. This leaves me with the view that despite all the controversies that have come to dog his style of worship and its repertoire of miracles, God is at work through Prophet Uebert and Prophetess Beverly Angel.

Indeed, God is using His anointed man and women to fulfil His divine purpose for mankind. It certainly was not a mistake that the over thousand worshippers made a conscious decision to want to hear this man of God.

At the same time, it cannot be that all these people can be eluded by any deception that could possibly be done by this individual in the name of performing miracles.

What became clear to me Tuesday night is that Prophet Angel is fast-growing into a recognised spiritual brand that is now actually planting and establishing new churches beyond his own country Zimbabwe. He is being accepted by worshippers because he has a timely message for their season.

On Tuesday night in Joburg, Prophet Uebert Angel was speaking words which resonate with the aspirations and material conditions of each and every worshipper especially financial breakthrough and restoration.

This is what people want to hear in Church and people like Angel and Makandiwa are being recognised as doing a better job in establishing this connection.

That is where the real miracle is and it is a challenge to the traditional churches to recognise this if they are to retain their relevance in a world which is increasingly programmed for instant or dot-com solutions.
