Man eaten by lions while taking outdoor shower

A Zimbabwean man was eaten by lions as he was taking a shower in a popular bush camp in the north of the country on Tuesday. 

Locals said the lions near Mana Pools are becoming more daring because they are being lured into camps with meat by tour operators.

Friends of the family said Pete Evershed was taking an outdoor shower before it got dark. He was on holiday at Chitake Camp Two near Mana Pools. 

He was attacked by up to five lions and there was nothing his wife could do to save him. Chitake is a remote camp site that is not guarded by rangers.

The Zimbabwe Conservation Task Force said wild animals are traumatised because of poaching. IAfrica.com
