HARARE - Three Beitbridge-based police officers have been sentenced to 10 years imprisonment each for armed robbery involving a new Land Cruiser Prado vehicle imported by the National Employment Council for the Tourism Industry (NECTIZ).
BEITBRIDGE – Tapiwa Rutsati, Seasec Security general manager has trashed a statement by a Zanu PF district commissar claiming that his company’s services at Beitbridge Border Post will be terminated shortly as naïve and nonsense. Lawrence Mambanje, a district political commissar posted a video that went viral in which he accused Seasec of flooding its workforce with CCC supporters at the border post and that a new company that will provide security services will be announced soon which will employ ZANU PF members only.
HARARE - The Zimbabwean government on Tuesday denied reports that over 400 children under eight years were intercepted on the South African side of the Beitbridge Border Post aboard 42 buses by authorities from that country. A commissioner with the SA Border Management Authority (BMA) Dr Michael Masiapato was earlier this week quoted saying they had blocked the attempted trafficking of 443 children under the age of eight destined for the neighbouring country from Zimbabwe over the past few days.
The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has released the names of five more people who died from a tragic road accident that killed 22 people last week at the 27km peg along the Bulawayo-Beitbridge Highway.
