Fire Trucks Scandal: no one knows how, when they are going to be procured
President Emmerson Mnangagwa's government is yet to reveal to the public the status of the fire engines and trucks procurement which caused controversy last year after Local Government Minister July Moyo was accused of signing the deal with Belarusian companies without following due procedures.
Two in court over US$88k fuel fraud… forging equipment seized
MUTARE - Provincial Magistrate for Mutare Perseverance Makala has remanded two men who allegedly attempted to illegally import fuel valued at US$88 115 in custody to May 30, 2023, for the continuation of trial. Malvin Mugodoki (38) and Wellington Kasalaweka (34) allegedly forged import documents to show that the fuel was crude-degummed soya bean oil which is duty-free.
Douglas Mwonzora’s ‘plan to delay 2023 elections’ halted by ConCourt
The Constitutional Court (ConCourt) this week dismissed an application by opposition MDC Alliance leader Douglas Mwonzora challenging the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission’s (ZEC)’s delimitation report. Most political commentators were of the view this was a backdoor attempt to postpone elections.

Gilad Shabtai withdraws fraud charges against Ofer Sivan, cites illness
Israeli businessman Gilad Shabtai has withdrawn fraud charges against his erstwhile partner Ofer Sivan and personal assistant Cassandra Myburgh citing that he is unable to travel to Zimbabwe to testify against the two on medical grounds. The two were standing trial in the High Court accused of defrauding Shabtai of over US$700 000 and $25 million in local currency.
