BULAWAYO – Highlanders have suffered a major setback ahead of their midweek fixture against Bikita Minerals at Barbourfields Stadium, with key central midfielders Mason Mushore and Melikhaya Ncube suspended due to card accumulations.
Mushore, currently one of the standout performers in Highlanders’ midfield, has been pivotal in anchoring the team.
On the other hand, Ncube a consistent starter, plays a vital role in controlling the midfield for the Kelvin Kaindu’s coached side.
The duo’s absence leaves Kaindu with limited options in the heart of midfield.
The Zambian gaffer is likely to turn to other central midfielders Gillian Nyathi and Darlington Mkuli who recently recovered from injury or Marvin Sibanda, who has seen little game time this season.
Meanwhile, TelOne will be without their captain Frank Makarati and FC Platinum will also miss key midfielder Hagiazo Magaya.
Yadah’s Marvelous Faranando, ZPC Kariba’s Collin Mleya, and Green Fuel’s Collen Mujuru complete the list of players suspended for Matchday Nine, as confirmed by the Premier Soccer League.
