AURA Group clarifies Starlink capacity issues in Zimbabwe amid new prices

Despite recent capacity concerns, authorised Starlink reseller AURA Group has confirmed availability for new subscriptions in Harare and surrounding areas, with some exceptions.

AURA has clarified that the “sold out” notification on Starlink’s website only applies to standard residential packages. Enterprise and SME services remain unaffected, ensuring uninterrupted connectivity for businesses.

To address roaming issues, AURA and fellow authorised reseller TelOne assist customers in transferring accounts from Roaming to Zimbabwe. This alleviates disconnections resulting from Starlink’s 60-day roaming limit enforcement.

Starlink users are receiving email notifications informing them that their service will be restricted due to extended use outside their registered country.

“Your Starlink has been restricted for active use outside of your account country for greater than the 60 days included with your ‘Roam Unlimited’ service plan,” the message reads.

“To resume service, please return your Starlink to the country in which your service was ordered.

“You can read our Terms of Service for more details on our Mobile service plans. Please contact Support if you have additional questions.”

Meanwhile, Starlink has adjusted pricing. Standard kits now cost US$389, up from US$350, in Zimbabwe and select African countries. Mini kits remain available at US$200, excluding Harare and surrounding areas.

The developments bring relief to roaming subscribers facing disconnections and Harare residents seeking Starlink services.
